Post 2: My choose of career
When I was a kid I would have liked to be a physicist. That dream changed to a be philosopher in the high school. Life led me to the school, the fomal education, for enter a the military service. For these years I was in the "free exams program" but the dream of being philosopher was kept.
I find out about Anthropology looking for other alternatives. Even within the military service I had to choose between philosophy or anthropology. The thing that helped me decide for anthropology was a gift that my squad sergeant gave me for my birthday: a book of the anthropologist Claude Levi-Strauss, "The savage mind". That book changed my way of seeing anthropology and made me decide for it. I think I made the right decision because I enjoyed what I study, with what can become the discipline. So far my experience in the university has been positive in general. Despite that, I had to self study of anthropology theory because university doesn't give a good professional training in this discipline.
I cant imagine my ideal job as anthropologist. The anthropology can get me to so many places that I prefer to be open to the possibilities. However, I would like a job that allows me to write theoretical texts on anthropology.
Woo. Hard.
